Hillcrest Academy provides a varied athletic program that serves as an important teaching tool for life. The coaching staff believes in developing the three-dimensional athlete. Not only do sports participants spend time on mental and physical preparation, but time for spiritual growth is also emphasized.

IMPORTANT

Before a student will be allowed to particpate in any sport, they must do the following:

• Complete the Hillcrest sports participation form before the school year starts. This form will give the athletic department all the essential information about the student. [pdf]

• Read and sign the MSHSL eligibility form and the medical questionaire. Turn in to the athletic office. This must be done each school year. [pdf]

• Turn in a current (within 3 years) physical form (signed by a physician) [pdf]

•Pay a fee for each sport.
$140/high school
$80/junior high

(When an athlete quits, no refund will be given after the first contest)

•Students who are transfering to Hillcrest from another school need to complete a transfer form. This form will need to be brought to the student's previous school for an official statement of good standing in the previous school. [pdf]

Hillcrest Academy is a member of the Minnesota State High School league and adheres to its rules and guidelines.

TRANSFER RULE

A transfer student is eligible for varsity competition provided the student was in good standing on the date of withdrawal from the last school the student attended and either ....

• the student is enrolling in 9th grade for the first time, or

• the student is enrolling at Hillcrest because his/her parents have moved into the area.

Transfer students in good standing are immediately eligible to participate in non-varsity athletics. After one year, transfer students who attend Hillcrest are eligible for varsity sports.

The MSHSL has provided a process for appealing a determination of varsity ineligibility for transfer students. Please contact Hillcrest's Athletic Director for more information about the appeal process.
